Thumbs down Be more creative.

Let players create their own designs themselv inside game, not as a part of contest as it is right at this moment

We want to improve our creativity inside game. Maybe Arena net should add map creator or somthing to stimulate players to use their own brain

This game is full of automatics. Some like it for that. Some dont.

Lets say it otherwords (dont complain cuz im going to mention WoW) : In WoW you can work as much as u wish to get as high lvl as you need in order to do things you plan to do - for example

Be more original

I hope someone will understand this

PS : Oh and by the way i hate thing about game skills changing every 1 month SERIOUSLY. You cannot owe anything inside game, game is like all arena's net. Make it more original , look at poor game like runescape, they even keep old version of game to satisfy players.WoW has similar things in.

I was talking what Arena net should do with GW 2 not GW:EN.Make GW:EN way it was supposed to be

Well you don't really say what you want them to let us create. But the only contest they've had that they could possibly let us customize ingame would be the guild emblems. As far as this is concerned, the probability of abuse is far too high. Just imagine how many guild penises and such you'd see about. The current system is just fine.

The majority of people that would tried to use a custom tool like that would come up with scribble pictures that didn't look that good anyway. It would only benefit a small minority that would be good with it which wouldn't warrant the effort necessary to create such a function.

They obviously couldn't let people design weapon skins ingame, that just wouldn't work out.

Concerning a map creator, that wouldn't work out either. GW was designed to have maps be the same. To be able to create a big zone filled with monsters of your choosing or even bosses of your choosing sounds too high a risk for exploiting. For both treasure and power lvl'ing.

No idea what that was supposed to mean. In GW you can also get to as high a level as necessary since they did create the content with the lvl cap in mind....

Having those editors reminds me of diablo 1 and diablo 2 open mode...

I would only sign this is it was part of a competition to design a new mapped area, or a weapon or an armor set.

And the map designs would have to be limited to PvP as you obviously cant just add a whole new zone to an existing campaign, or it makes no sense and screws up exploration.

Give the players access to map and armor modelling software, and let them run free. But judge the results as a competition.

/signed if like that, but not signed if its basically a free for all. Otherwise go play simcity or that MMO life thing!

The point is, your average person knows jack shit (pardon the french) about creating a game. You give a player the ability to make maps or skin armors or give any sort of liberty in this respect, and you'll see maps with more monsters than the server can support and armor skins of warriors with "All your base are belong to us" written on it (or worse).

The only sort of leeway game designers can give players are the ones in which are carefully controlled. The capes designs, for example, are given a wide variety of options, but you aren't allowed to 'make your own' for a good reason.

Don't complain so much. Odds are, if you could change the aspects of Guild Wars, you'd probably end up making it a piece of crap. Game designers do a damn fine job as it is.

In a MMORPG i played, you could have a custom guild emblem.

It was a small texture, that needed to be pre-approved before you can apply it.

Things like that are cool and would add uniqueness to the game.

as long as its not a large file (custom alpha textures) it wouldnt be so bad.

True, if it were pre-approved, but who approves it? Either you get moderators to do it, who might be overly generous or too strict, or someone is paid in arenanet to do this sort of work.

I imagine the number of guild cape changes everyday alone is in the 1000s. What happens if they all want you to approve their cape design? Imagine going through 1000 spam e-mails a day... it'd be like that. I can understand allowing more creativity, but I doubt ArenaNet would ever do something that would require individual player to player, guild to guild work which would bog down their ability to do better changes.

Costs kept the numbers down plus you could only change like once a month.

All the mods really needed to do was make sure the cape design wasnt a penis or something like that.
